Dear Mr. Gibson,

It is important to continue offering social media communication courses to MTSU students because of the influence it has on the world. Social Media is more than Facebooking with friends, or Tweeting funny quotes. It is the number one source professionals use to market their name and brand. The growth of social media is only going to increase which is why it is so important to educate students, the future professionals. Taking these courses away would be holding students back from an increasingly growing trend. Below is a link that shows facts about the growth of social media, and the impact it is having on the world.

Final Reflection

One goal that I achieved was joining with more people and professionals on LinkedIn. Since I am graduating in May I will have more time on my hands to focus more attention on developing a better online presence on LinkedIn. I don't think I will continue blogging, but I will use the experience of this course to increase my twitter skills.

The title is pretty self explanitory of what this book is about.

Follow up to Topics 6-9

I learned that many of the professionals I follow on Twitter will post multiple tweets in one day. I also noticed that not only do they tweet to promote their own organizations but they also tweet about organizations/brands they are related to, or share the same values. Since the first week of this assignment 5 out of the 63 tweeps I started following are now following me. I think they started following me only because I follow them. The main reason why I don't tweet much is because I'm not good at expressing my thoughts in less than 140 characters. I think I retweet more than I tweet, just because it's easier. So my writing probably has not improved that much.
